Jessica Yu, Ph.D.
Dr. Yu is a licensed psychologist (PSY29468) with expertise in the evidence-based assessment and treatment of a wide variety of behavioral and mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, and eating and weight related disorders. She utilizes the principles and techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. She works with clients to understand their individual needs, preferences, and goals - and empowers them with the skills, tools, and support to live their healthiest lives. In addition to working at the East Bay Anxiety and OCD Center, Dr. Yu is a clinical product leader in the digital health industry, working to democratize access to mental health resources and tools.
Dr. Yu's Training and Experience
Dr. Yu earned her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. At Rutgers, she trained under the dual mentorship of Dr. G. Terence Wilson, a leader in the field of CBT, and Dr. Howard Leventhal, a leader in the field of health psychology. She went on to complete her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Healthcare System. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including Family Medicine at Monument Square, the primary care clinic at Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; the Center of Excellence in Eating and Weight Disorders at the Mount Sinai Health System; the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania; the Rutgers University DBT Clinic; and private practice.
