Getting Started

Complimentary phone consultation

Please email us or send us a message through our website to schedule a brief phone consultation. We will contact you within two business days. During the phone consultation we will gather more information about what you are looking for help with, answer your questions, and determine whether our center and the type of therapy we provide is an appropriate match for your needs. At the end of the call we will discuss next steps, which may include scheduling an initial session or providing referral information for other providers in the area.

We do not accept insurance directly. If you have a PPO insurance plan, we may be considered an out-of-network provider. If you would like to seek reimbursement through your PPO insurance, we suggest you contact your insurance provider to determine their policy on out-of-network behavioral health care prior to beginning treatment.

Prior to your first session

We will send you our new client packet, which you should complete before your first session. For in-person sessions, please arrive a few minutes early for the first appointment to become familiar with the area. We are located at 3180 Crow Canyon Place, Suite 255 in San Ramon. There is ample parking in our parking lot. When you arrive, please let yourself in and have a seat in the waiting area. The therapist will meet you there at your appointment time.

At your first session (intake assessment)

The first part of the treatment process is conducting a thorough assessment to ensure that we develop a treatment plan that best meets your needs. This process, called an intake assessment, lasts anywhere from 1-3 sessions. The first appointment is scheduled for 60 minutes and will begin the intake process. The therapist will get to know your concerns, goals for treatment, and background. At the end of the assessment, you and the therapist will begin formulating a treatment plan. If the therapist determines during the intake assessment that our center is not the best match for your needs, we will provide you with referral information for other providers.

Therapy sessions

Therapy sessions are typically scheduled to occur weekly for 45-50 minutes, although more frequent or longer sessions may be appropriate in certain cases and can be discussed. Your therapist will provide individualized, evidence-based therapy. You and your therapist will monitor your progress in therapy and adjust as needed. At your request, your therapist will collaborate with others outside the center, such as psychiatrists or teachers, to provide the best possible care.
